History: A short summary of the game, taken from its TV tropes page is:
"Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea is a game created in RPG Maker 2000 by Mogeko in late 2013. It follows the adventures of a young sea witch, named Wadanohara, who is narrating her story to you. While exploring islands with her three familiars, she encounters her ex-familiar, a shark boy named Samekichi, who tells her she should leave the sea forever. Things start to go downhill when war is declared on her ocean home by the Tosatsu Kingdom for reasons unknown. It's up to Wadanohara to use her magic to keep the invaders out."
Lobco is the daughter of a giant lobster named Doloz, and the shrimp-person, Cherryblod. They are all sea creatures and current residents of the Great Kingdom ruled by Princess Uomi. It is a peaceful sea, and had been for all of Lobco's life but it hadn't always been that way. Long ago it was ruled by the Sea God and all was tranquil. He had two daughters, Princess Uomi and Princess Mikotsu. Unfortunately the tranquility was broken when he one day disappeared, his last act being to choose Uomi as his heir.
Feeling slighted, Princess Mikotsu gathered up followers and the kingdom was divided between those who supported Uomi, and those who supported Mikotsu. War waged for a very long time, nearly ripping the kingdom apart until the Great Sorcerer Meikai--Wadanohara's father-- stepped in and used a spell to seal Mikotsu and her followers into the Red Sea. The Red Sea, also known as the Sea of Death, is a sea that exists parallel to the regular one (called the Blue Sea). It is a place of pain and corruption where the worst and basest instincts of a person are brought out, and where nothing can ever truly die. The two sisters were connected in such a way that both share the same sleep cycle--when one was awake, so was the other. When one was asleep, so was the other. Thus, to prevent her from ever escaping, Uomi put herself in a deep sleep as well.
Many, many years later Lobco was born. Doloz and Cherryblod were the parents whose love did not diminish in the slightest after decades (possibly centuries) together. They love their daughter very much which made for some rather sheltered upbringing, and as most of her time was constantly spent with them Lobco grew up to be someone who can often be shy around others. Lobco was never bothered by this, for she holds just as much love for her parents.
From her youth she always had a fascination with Witches, as depicted by all the many books on Witches in her room. She was always a shy and timid girl but at some point in her early teenhood she decided to do something that very, very few sea creatures ever do: she left it. During her travels she came upon an incredibly powerful Witch named Chlomaki who took her on as her Familiar. Since then she is often away from home, traveling with Chlomaki and getting into misadventures with her.
Several years after this is the start of the game. Chlomaki and Lobco take Wadanohara to the Witch world for the first time so that she may meet the Great Witch there. Upon returning, the Great Witch notices that Wadanohara left behind her ocarina which carries sentimental value. She sends Chlomaki and Lobco after her to return it, with a suggestion to Chlomaki that she visits the sea in order to open her mind. Thus the two sometimes join up with Wadanohara and her crew when they are underwater.
For much of the game Lobco, via Chlomaki seems to play an observational role. Chlomaki seems to understand a good deal of what is going on and what Wadanohara (the protagonist) is going through. There is only one moment when the two intervene to help Wada and her Familiars, and in this moment Lobco shows unexpected strength when she saves the group from a horde of killer, sentient, and very pissed off rabbits from a kingdom that is invading.
From there on out, she once more continued to simply oversee things on the orders of Chlomaki, but things unfortunately spiral out of control. The truth behind the seemingly random invasion of the Tosatsu Kingdom, was that traitor within the Sea Kingdom has been killing civilians and soldiers of theirs and sending threatening letters under the name of Princess Uomi. This traitor was Sal, a shark in her service. When Tosatsu's invasion came to Uomi's steps she was finally forced to awaken, and thus so was Mikotsu, and the door to the Red Sea opened.
The corruption spread throughout the sea, and through circumstances unknown to Lobco, Wadanohara was also corrupted and converted to be a follower of the Red Sea. Unable to stand seeing her home the way it was, Lobco departed from Chlomaki, desperate to do anything that she could to save her loved ones and precious home.
There is one other thing that needs to be said about Lobco that takes previous to all this. An important thing to know about Mogeko and their works is that all their games, comics, and flash series are contained within the same universe, and spread across different worlds. A lot of the information we get about various characters and their relationships with each other comes from art, mini comics, and questions that they answer. When it comes to Lobco Mogeko has describe her as a "poor shrimp [who] lives a pitiful life". She had been depicted with a certain character by the name of Roc Hijohshiki enough times that despite still lacking a fair amount of context, I still can't completely ignore their relationship, especially considering how much of an impact it has on her personality.
Roc Hijohshiki is a demon at whose hands Lobco has suffered a lot. She's been through (presumably) kidnapping, blackmail, torture, degradation, sexual assault and more over a long period of time, and it is implied it is something that still continues and that no one else knows about. Lobco's lack of self esteem and depression was not directly caused by these experiences, but severely worsened by them and instilled in her a great sense of distrust towards most people, especially men.
Personality: Lobco is a very polite and prim person. She’s always mindful of her manners, always tries to think about others and the position they are in, and tries her best to be kind and patient with everyone. While Lobco has a lot of issues to overcome, she is an incredibly empathetic and compassionate person and pretty mature. She’s quite a stickler for keeping things clean and having everything in its proper order, to a point that it could be considered a tick. She enjoys cleaning and general housework, a trait that she inherited from her mother. When we are first introduced to her she is in her lobster form, riding in Chlomaki’s hat as she returns Wadanohara’s ocarina.
Lobco is essentially the straight man to Chlomaki’s wise guy. Chlomaki is a powerful witch, but Lobco is the one who has to remind her of her duties, of why she set out to do certain things, was the one who kept her on track and tried to remind her to be serious in certain situations. Lobco taught her a lot about the sea but unfortunately her witch tended to either completely ignore her until she heard it from someone else, or at the very least pretended to in hopes of getting a rise out of her.
Lobco puts up with a lot from her Witch who often hits her, teases her, and seems to barter with her life when using spells that can drain a Familiar. It shows either incredible patience, perseverance, a strong sense of duty or how desperate she is to be important to people outside of her parents. Perhaps a combination of all four, as it is a bit of a joke that other citizens of the Sea Kingdom tend to forget/ignore her, and even Lobco refers to herself as 'just some shrimp’.
The truth is Lobco tends to have a lot of internalized anxiety, fear, and complaints. For every word that she says, there are at least twenty more that she keeps to herself, and she expresses several times a desire to 'just die’ which while presented in a comical manner, when taking into account her history are unfortunately very strong feelings that she has. Outside of the game there have been several official comics/pics that show her as being a bit of a doormat, and being prone to misfortune and freaking out. She is sadly, a person who suffers from depression and quite honestly? Doesn't seem to like herself very much. A lot of this stems from just how she was born, and a lot of this is due to her experiences with Hijohshiki that instilled a sense of of self loathing and disgust in herself as he managed to almost completely break her spirit.
While friendly a lot of her relationships with people are rather superficial. She tries to be kind to everyone but has a lot of difficulty making friends and actually opening up to them.
Yet in the end she is someone who is strong, knows when to act, and does her best not to let that fear get in her way. She left the kingdom to explore. It is said that a lot of misfortune tends to befall her whenever she leaves the sea and this tends to get under Lobco’s skin, strengthening her pessimism but even then she never stopped traveling. She still stays by Chlomaki's side, despite the witch's sometimes less than kind behavior towards her.
In her profile she is said to love 'home’ and her hobby is 'photography’. Despite her traveling there is nothing she loves more than her home and family. The lobster simply has a case of wanderlust and a desire to forge herself into a better person–which she doesn’t think she’d be able to do remaining where she was. She’s got an artistic side that doesn’t often come up.
Debt: Lobco is paying back the wish of 'healing everyone from the Sea Kingdom and driving back the Red Sea'. She understands the need to be specific with these things and wants to make sure that no corruption remains so that life can return to normal for everyone else. It's a rather steep wish.
Previous Game Info: N/A
Inventory: Lobco will only have her uniform that designates her as Chlomaki's Familiar, a photograph of her family and friends, and one of Chlomaki's belts.
Abilities:
* Lobco is capable of transforming into a small shrimp/lobster roughly four inches.
* She can breath underwater and can give other people the ability to breath under water (it's never quite explained how she does this, and chances are fairly high she can only do this for Chlomaki--for the purposes of fun roleplay opportunities, however, I would like her to be able to do it for anyone).
* She can sense a lot of things with her antennas. Air, temperature changes, scents, other creatures/people, sounds. They are incredibly sensitive and can be used to track things down.
* She's very, very good at housework (ie. cooking, cleaning, sewing, etc).
* She is a magical creature and knows a lot about magic having served under a witch before.
* She's quite smart, very good at logic and deduction.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Strengths
* Physically speaking, Lobco is very strong. The strength she has as a crustacean carries on to her humanoid form and becomes relative so she can lift quite a lot, crush things in her hands if she so wishes, and pack quite the punch.
* She's a very smart girl with it comes to logistics. She's able to solve puzzles and riddles rather quickly.
* She's an incredibly hard worker. While she will complain a lot and act quite dejected she will do what needs to be done.
* She's rather speedy. Have to be when you are a prey creature and your life is as unfortunate as hers.
* She has the potential to learn magic, though she does not know any yet.
Weaknesses
* The girl cannot take a hit. Give her one good blow and she is down for the count because she has 0 tolerance for pain.
* She complete and utter lack of confidence and self hatred makes it so her strength is in some ways null since she is typically too scared to defend herself.
* She's tends to be a bit too paranoid of people and often questions their motives, making it difficult for her to really rely or trust someone beyond the superficial.
* She doesn't fight as well on land as she does underwater.
* If she says out of the water for days on end she begins to suffer, and she needs to stay much more hydrated than other people.
