Trigger Warnings / Opt Out Post
Jan. 29th, 2018 08:17 pmDespite the cutesy style, Funamusea's works contain a lot of disturbing and triggering material. Lobco is unfortunately one of the biggest scapegoats of the series and...her backstory contains a lot of terrible things.
In this post you can request the follow:
1. Asking that I not bring said material up when roleplaying you. I put my roleplay partner's comfort before ICness so even if a situation arises that would cause Lobco to think about her history, I will not bring it up.
2. Opt out of interacting with her completely. This means that I will never tag you, and if you tag me I will give you a little reminder in case you have forgotten.
OR
3. Let me know that you are okay with any material. Lobco is very closed lipped about all this so she's not going to go bringing it up in dialogue, but she will still think about it if something brings up those memories.
You can of course change your mind on how you want to interact with Lobco at any point in time.
Whenever I tag others I will always default to number 1.
Her backstory contains the following warnings: sexual assault, kidnapping, gaslighting, emotional abuse/manipulation, torture, forced drug use, cannibalism, infanticide, forced emotional dependency, forced impregnation and suicide idealization.

Backtagging: Please yes. I live by backtagging.
Threadhopping: Please ask both me and who I am roleplaying with first if it's a log. I don't mind if it's on a network post--provided of course, it's all public.
Fourthwalling: No, please.
Trigger Warnings / Opt out: Lobco's backstory contains a lot of potentially triggering material. Please check out this post to look at all the details and opt out of interacting with her if you wish.

Physical contact: Not unless you want to make her incredibly uncomfortable. Lobco doesn't like physical contact at all, especially if there is clear intimate intent behind it.
Romantic interest: While it's not completely off the table it's going to be an incredibly long journey if you actually want a ship to happen. Lobco will likely become incredibly discomforted by any romantic or flirty behavior, being the victim of an abusive relationship.
Fighting: Give me a heads up first. Lobco is tougher than she appears or acts but she's definitely a flee person unless it's actually necessary.

As there is no history section I haven't gone into detail about this in the application, but it is alluded to in her personality section. If accepted I will create a post where people can request I avoid bringing up that material as much as possible, or opt out of interacting with her entirely.

Name: Lobco
Canon: Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea / Funamusea Universe
Canon Point: Post True End,
Age: Appearance: Late Teens / Early Twenties, Biological: 100-200 years.
Type of Character: Canon
Reference: http://wadanohara.wikia.com/wiki/Lobco
Personality: To avoid some possible confusion, I refer to Lobco as a shrimp/lobster/crustacean because she is technically a hybrid of the two. She has weird parentage.
Lobco is a very polite and prim person. She’s always mindful of her manners, always tries to think about others and the position they are in, and tries her best to be kind and patient with everyone. Considering some of the things she has undergone, one would think that Lobco would be a bitter and resentful person, but she is incredibly empathetic and compassionate person. She’s quite a stickler for keeping things clean and having everything in its proper order, to a point that it could be considered a tick. She enjoys cleaning and general housework, a trait that she inherited from her mother and learning about everything under the sun. When we are first introduced to her she is in her crustacean form, riding in Chlomaki’s (her witch's) hat as she returns Wadanohara’s ocarina.
Lobco is essentially the straight man to Chlomaki’s wise guy. Chlomaki is a powerful witch, but Lobco is the one who has to remind her of her duties, of why she set out to do certain things, was the one who kept her on track and tried to remind her to be serious in certain situations. Lobco taught her a lot about the sea but unfortunately her witch tended to either completely ignore her until she heard it from someone else, or at the very least pretended to in hopes of getting a rise out of her.
Lobco puts up with a lot from her Witch who often hits her, teases her, and seems to barter with her life when using spells that can drain a familiar. It shows either incredible patience, perseverance, a strong sense of duty or how desperate she is to be important to people outside of her parents. Perhaps a combination of all four, as it is a bit of a joke that other citizens of the Sea Kingdom tend to forget/ignore her, and even Lobco refers to herself as ‘just some shrimp’.
The truth is Lobco suffers from depression, anxiety, ptsd and might even have a bit of Stockholm syndrome going on. For every word that she says, there are at least twenty more that she keeps to herself, and she expresses several times a desire to ‘just die’. Outside of the game there have been several official comics/pics that show her as being a bit of a doormat, and being prone to misfortune and freaking out. She is also a victim of extreme abuse. While her witch can be pretty bad, it doesn't measure up even a bit to what she receives from a demon named Roc Hijohshiki, something she suffers alone and has exacerbated the aforementioned disorders, and instilled the Stockholm syndrome.
When it comes to other people, she is someone who is strong, knows when to act, and doesn’t let that fear get in her way. She left the kingdom to explore. It is said that a lot of misfortune tends to befall her whenever she leaves the sea (and considering what she encounters and other comments made by the creator, it's possible that Lobco is literally cursed with bad luck) and this tends to get under Lobco’s skin, strengthening her pessimism but even then she never stopped traveling.
In her profile she is said to love ‘home’ and her hobby is 'photography’. Despite her traveling there is nothing she loves more than her home and family. The lobster simply has a case of wanderlust and a desire to forge herself into a better person–which she doesn’t think she’d be able to do remaining where she was. She’s got an artistic side that doesn’t often come up.
Appearance: Lobco stands at 162cm / 5'3. She is fair skinned and has bright red hair that is short in the back, and is long and curly in the front. She has two bright red antennas that stick up from the top of her head, with two smaller ones protruding from them. She's got a long, red shrimp tail. Her eyes have black sclera and her pupils are red. She usually wears the uniform of her witch which consists of a black jacket with golden epaulets and buttons, a black skirt and hosiery, boots, gloves, and a red chain.
In her shrimp form she looks like this.
Abilities: Lobco's most notable ability is the power to transform. She is in actuality a crustacean with the ability to take on a humanoid shape, rather than the reverse. Thus, Lobco can change between said humanoid form and her shrimp form. In her shrimp form she is but an inch long.
In her crustacean form she is still able to speak as she normally does. Whenever she transform, she retains whatever she has on her person, such as her clothing, when she returns to her humanoid form.
In both forms she can breath underwater, and if she has a contract with someone, she can grant them the ability to breath underwater as well if they are in her vicinity.
She is capable of regenerating her extremities and overall is built tougher than a human, but it would take months for her to regrow them and she can still bleed out or die from infection if not given proper treatment.
Drinking her witch's blood enables her to have a burst of extreme speed and power, but it is quickly vanished and if abused can kill Lobco. Other abilities that come from her contract is the potential to inherit her witch's magic if trained, and an ability to remain conscious of her life and general location. This also connects her to all other familiars that her witch has, which at the present are four others.
Suitability: Lobco has..suffered a lot in her canon. She's unfortunately been given the short end of the stick and as much as I love her character what she has been put through has not been handled with what you would call grace.
I think her being taken to Aifaran would give her the pause in life that she needs to firstly, get a break from the abuse she faces, secondly, begin to come to terms with it, and last of all find a way to love herself and realize her worth. Finding peace will come by making friends with people who will treat her with respect and genuine care, and I would be interested in having her explore the Sabonile and learn some meditative arts---their dedication to the truth and equality is something she would highly respect.
Lobco is a very hard worker, and has a deep sense of wanderlust and desire for knowledge, so revitalizing her sense of exploration is definitely something I'd want to do.

Quick Reference for Memes
Feb. 14th, 2016 11:01 amHere is a post for anyone I interact with on memes to just have a quick idea of Lobco and what their characters could see of her.
Lobco is in fact a shrimp. To be exact she is a shrimp/lobster hybrid. In her regular form she looks like this.

She's about two inches long / 5 centimeters, a bright red color, and capable of speech.
In her "humanoid" form, which is what she'll almost always be in she looks like this:

She's 5'3/162cm. She's of a bright red coloration in her hair, tail, and antennas. She has a shrimp tail, and antennas that fall to a little past her waist. The creator is a bit inconsistent with the color of her eyes. Sometimes they draw her with red sclera, and lighter red pupils. Sometimes they draw her with black sclera and red pupils. I settle for the latter.
She is a familiar to a cat witch named Chlomaki. As far as disposition goes she's a pretty formal person, a bit of a traditionalist, shy and reserved, altruistic but with a very, very low sense of self esteem and a bit sensitive.
She's very strong and an able fighter but lack of confidence and a general abhorrence of violence makes her seem less capable than what she actually is. She also canonically has terrible luck so that often makes things not turn out in her favor. Poor girl is kind of a scape goat in the series and has had a lot of legitimately horrid things happen to her which won't come up in any meme threads unless I know the other person is aware of uh. Mogeko's 'problem'.

History: A short summary of the game, taken from its TV tropes page is:
"Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea is a game created in RPG Maker 2000 by Mogeko in late 2013. It follows the adventures of a young sea witch, named Wadanohara, who is narrating her story to you. While exploring islands with her three familiars, she encounters her ex-familiar, a shark boy named Samekichi, who tells her she should leave the sea forever. Things start to go downhill when war is declared on her ocean home by the Tosatsu Kingdom for reasons unknown. It's up to Wadanohara to use her magic to keep the invaders out."
Lobco is the daughter of a giant lobster named Doloz, and the shrimp-person, Cherryblod. They are all sea creatures and current residents of the Great Kingdom ruled by Princess Uomi. It is a peaceful sea, and had been for all of Lobco's life but it hadn't always been that way. Long ago it was ruled by the Sea God and all was tranquil. He had two daughters, Princess Uomi and Princess Mikotsu. Unfortunately the tranquility was broken when he one day disappeared, his last act being to choose Uomi as his heir.
Feeling slighted, Princess Mikotsu gathered up followers and the kingdom was divided between those who supported Uomi, and those who supported Mikotsu. War waged for a very long time, nearly ripping the kingdom apart until the Great Sorcerer Meikai--Wadanohara's father-- stepped in and used a spell to seal Mikotsu and her followers into the Red Sea. The Red Sea, also known as the Sea of Death, is a sea that exists parallel to the regular one (called the Blue Sea). It is a place of pain and corruption where the worst and basest instincts of a person are brought out, and where nothing can ever truly die. The two sisters were connected in such a way that both share the same sleep cycle--when one was awake, so was the other. When one was asleep, so was the other. Thus, to prevent her from ever escaping, Uomi put herself in a deep sleep as well.
Many, many years later Lobco was born. Doloz and Cherryblod were the parents whose love did not diminish in the slightest after decades (possibly centuries) together. They love their daughter very much which made for some rather sheltered upbringing, and as most of her time was constantly spent with them Lobco grew up to be someone who can often be shy around others. Lobco was never bothered by this, for she holds just as much love for her parents.
From her youth she always had a fascination with Witches, as depicted by all the many books on Witches in her room. She was always a shy and timid girl but at some point in her early teenhood she decided to do something that very, very few sea creatures ever do: she left it. During her travels she came upon an incredibly powerful Witch named Chlomaki who took her on as her Familiar. Since then she is often away from home, traveling with Chlomaki and getting into misadventures with her.
Several years after this is the start of the game. Chlomaki and Lobco take Wadanohara to the Witch world for the first time so that she may meet the Great Witch there. Upon returning, the Great Witch notices that Wadanohara left behind her ocarina which carries sentimental value. She sends Chlomaki and Lobco after her to return it, with a suggestion to Chlomaki that she visits the sea in order to open her mind. Thus the two sometimes join up with Wadanohara and her crew when they are underwater.
For much of the game Lobco, via Chlomaki seems to play an observational role. Chlomaki seems to understand a good deal of what is going on and what Wadanohara (the protagonist) is going through. There is only one moment when the two intervene to help Wada and her Familiars, and in this moment Lobco shows unexpected strength when she saves the group from a horde of killer, sentient, and very pissed off rabbits from a kingdom that is invading.
From there on out, she once more continued to simply oversee things on the orders of Chlomaki, but things unfortunately spiral out of control. The truth behind the seemingly random invasion of the Tosatsu Kingdom, was that traitor within the Sea Kingdom has been killing civilians and soldiers of theirs and sending threatening letters under the name of Princess Uomi. This traitor was Sal, a shark in her service. When Tosatsu's invasion came to Uomi's steps she was finally forced to awaken, and thus so was Mikotsu, and the door to the Red Sea opened.
The corruption spread throughout the sea, and through circumstances unknown to Lobco, Wadanohara was also corrupted and converted to be a follower of the Red Sea. Unable to stand seeing her home the way it was, Lobco departed from Chlomaki, desperate to do anything that she could to save her loved ones and precious home.
There is one other thing that needs to be said about Lobco that takes previous to all this. An important thing to know about Mogeko and their works is that all their games, comics, and flash series are contained within the same universe, and spread across different worlds. A lot of the information we get about various characters and their relationships with each other comes from art, mini comics, and questions that they answer. When it comes to Lobco Mogeko has describe her as a "poor shrimp [who] lives a pitiful life". She had been depicted with a certain character by the name of Roc Hijohshiki enough times that despite still lacking a fair amount of context, I still can't completely ignore their relationship, especially considering how much of an impact it has on her personality.
Roc Hijohshiki is a demon at whose hands Lobco has suffered a lot. She's been through (presumably) kidnapping, blackmail, torture, degradation, sexual assault and more over a long period of time, and it is implied it is something that still continues and that no one else knows about. Lobco's lack of self esteem and depression was not directly caused by these experiences, but severely worsened by them and instilled in her a great sense of distrust towards most people, especially men.
Personality: Lobco is a very polite and prim person. She’s always mindful of her manners, always tries to think about others and the position they are in, and tries her best to be kind and patient with everyone. While Lobco has a lot of issues to overcome, she is an incredibly empathetic and compassionate person and pretty mature. She’s quite a stickler for keeping things clean and having everything in its proper order, to a point that it could be considered a tick. She enjoys cleaning and general housework, a trait that she inherited from her mother. When we are first introduced to her she is in her lobster form, riding in Chlomaki’s hat as she returns Wadanohara’s ocarina.
Perhaps a combination of all four, as it is a bit of a joke that other citizens of the Sea Kingdom tend to forget/ignore her, and even Lobco refers to herself as 'just some shrimp’.
The truth is Lobco tends to have a lot of internalized anxiety, fear, and complaints. For every word that she says, there are at least twenty more that she keeps to herself, and she expresses several times a desire to 'just die’ which while presented in a comical manner, when taking into account her history are unfortunately very strong feelings that she has. Outside of the game there have been several official comics/pics that show her as being a bit of a doormat, and being prone to misfortune and freaking out. She is sadly, a person who suffers from depression and quite honestly? Doesn't seem to like herself very much. A lot of this stems from just how she was born, and a lot of this is due to her experiences with Hijohshiki that instilled a sense of of self loathing and disgust in herself as he managed to almost completely break her spirit.
While friendly a lot of her relationships with people are rather superficial. She tries to be kind to everyone but has a lot of difficulty making friends and actually opening up to them.
Yet in the end she is someone who is strong, knows when to act, and does her best not to let that fear get in her way. She left the kingdom to explore. It is said that a lot of misfortune tends to befall her whenever she leaves the sea and this tends to get under Lobco’s skin, strengthening her pessimism but even then she never stopped traveling. She still stays by Chlomaki's side, despite the witch's sometimes less than kind behavior towards her.
In her profile she is said to love 'home’ and her hobby is 'photography’. Despite her traveling there is nothing she loves more than her home and family. The lobster simply has a case of wanderlust and a desire to forge herself into a better person–which she doesn’t think she’d be able to do remaining where she was. She’s got an artistic side that doesn’t often come up.
Debt: Lobco is paying back the wish of 'healing everyone from the Sea Kingdom and driving back the Red Sea'. She understands the need to be specific with these things and wants to make sure that no corruption remains so that life can return to normal for everyone else. It's a rather steep wish.
Previous Game Info: N/A
Inventory: Lobco will only have her uniform that designates her as Chlomaki's Familiar, a photograph of her family and friends, and one of Chlomaki's belts.
Abilities:
* Lobco is capable of transforming into a small shrimp/lobster roughly four inches.
* She can breath underwater and can give other people the ability to breath under water (it's never quite explained how she does this, and chances are fairly high she can only do this for Chlomaki--for the purposes of fun roleplay opportunities, however, I would like her to be able to do it for anyone).
* She can sense a lot of things with her antennas. Air, temperature changes, scents, other creatures/people, sounds. They are incredibly sensitive and can be used to track things down.
* She's very, very good at housework (ie. cooking, cleaning, sewing, etc).
* She is a magical creature and knows a lot about magic having served under a witch before.
* She's quite smart, very good at logic and deduction.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Strengths
* Physically speaking, Lobco is very strong. The strength she has as a crustacean carries on to her humanoid form and becomes relative so she can lift quite a lot, crush things in her hands if she so wishes, and pack quite the punch.
* She's a very smart girl with it comes to logistics. She's able to solve puzzles and riddles rather quickly.
* She's an incredibly hard worker. While she will complain a lot and act quite dejected she will do what needs to be done.
* She's rather speedy. Have to be when you are a prey creature and your life is as unfortunate as hers.
* She has the potential to learn magic, though she does not know any yet.
Weaknesses
* The girl cannot take a hit. Give her one good blow and she is down for the count because she has 0 tolerance for pain.
* She complete and utter lack of confidence and self hatred makes it so her strength is in some ways null since she is typically too scared to defend herself.
* She's tends to be a bit too paranoid of people and often questions their motives, making it difficult for her to really rely or trust someone beyond the superficial.
* She doesn't fight as well on land as she does underwater.
* If she says out of the water for days on end she begins to suffer, and she needs to stay much more hydrated than other people.

Cherryblod is Lobco's father, and he and Doloz are the two most precious people to Lobco. There is no one who will mean more to her than her family and she's very much a daddy's girl. He has been with her since the start of this mess and has given her a lot of the protection and support that she needs. Recently she came to learn of his past as 'Cherryblood' and needless to say she was shocked. To her there was no one more kind, patient, or empathetic than her father so it was really hard for her to swallow at first. Thankfully she realized that her father had been a genuine change for the better, and that he was still the same person she always knew. A lot of times (read always) Lobco doesn't feel like she lives up to her father's perception of her, but she continues to do her damndest to make him and her mother proud.
♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦
Lobco's mother is a recent addition to the castle, and despite the dangers Lobco is largely relieved. She's very happy to have her entire family together, and she's very happy to see Doloz taking her human form. She of course loves her mother whatever shape she may take, but it's a little hard to get hugs from a 33 foot lobster.
Much like her father, Doloz is one of the most important people to Lobco. There is nothing she treasure more than her family and being able to spend time with them. Much like Cherry, she always wants nothing more than to make her proud and feels that she very often falls short of that.
♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦
Wadanohara, who now identifies as Akoumi, is the biggest source of conflict for Lobco at the castle. She still sees her friend in her and is determined to free her from the Red Sea at all costs. Unfortunately attempting this comes at great risks and Lobco is often frightened by the Witch. She sees her pain, and often sees through her self-delusion, and it in turn causes her a lot of anguish. There is nothing she wants more than to see her returned to who she once was, and to end the suffering that she is clearly going through. Things have become increasingly more tense between them since Akoumi tried to forcibly convert her father to the Red Sea.
♦♦♦♦♦♥♥♣♣♣
Kcalb was one of the first 'new' people Lobco met when arriving at the castle. They explored some of it together, and have interacted a couple times since then. Despite being scared by his sudden appearance when they first met she has quickly warmed up to him, as it has become apparent that he is a really sweet guy despite her rather gruff appearance and silent nature.
♦♦♦♦♦♥♥♥♥
An alternate Kcalb, female, and Lobco is just as attached to her if not more. They first met when Kcalb found a cat and bonded over their shared love of felines. Eventually they got into conversing about the castle and opened up to one another about things that had been plaguing them. Lobco, her worries about Wadanohara, and Kcalb, her fears of being an entity of destruction that could do no good for others. Kcalb gave Lobco some good advice and started her on the path to having a vague plan, and Lobco reassured her of just how good she could be, and how she was appreciated. Lobco now frequently visits her, and they are raising the cat (named Pitch) together.
♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♥♥♥♥
When Lobco was young she barely ever left home and was a cripplingly shy girl. On one occassion, however, she met Tatsumi and was immediately inspired by the strong, wise, and graceful oarfish. It was encouragement from her family, and then inspiration she drew from Tatsumi that finally got her going out more and becoming a more proactive person. Lobco still holds a lot of admiration for her, and even from childhood she has wanted to become a Familiar so that she could be more like Tatsumi. But shhh. That's a secret.
♦♦♦♦
The Princess of Tosatsu Kingdom. Lobco is wary of her and finds her to have a rather hasty personality, needless to say. At the same time she also carries some guilt when around the Princess for the casualties she caused to her army. Lobco realizes the invasion is not something that Tosatsu should be blamed for but it still makes things rather awkward. Otherwise she hasn't formed any significant opinions on her.
♣
Lobco first met Macarona when she had been turned into a wee child when she consumed some candy from the Mogeko Merchant. The angel took care of her and helped her find her father. They met again during the camp out and became near instant friends. The two girls are incredibly similar in disposition and made a deal to help each other out whenever the other needed it.
♦♦♦♦
The Orca is...strange. Lobco really isn't sure what to make of him. During their first interaction he hit on her, she witnessed him almost get into what could have been a very violent fight if Wadanohara hadn't intervened, and then he protected her when she turned into a kid. So thus far he hasn't really given her a reason to fear him but he is an orca and Lobco is Lobco.
♣♦♦♥♥
Like most people, Lobco was immediately wary of Sameri. She is after all, an alternate of Sal. Fortunately she figured pretty quickly that she was absolutely nothing like him. Since their meeting they have talked a couple times since Lobco frequents the library. Lobco has become fonder of her, and after Etihw cured Sameri she has begun training her in self defense.
♦♦♦♦
Chlomaki is Lobco's Witch. Lobco has dedicated herself to serving and protecting Chlomaki, no matter how dangerous or how ridiculous things become. It's a duty that Lobco takes very seriously. Still, there are times when she definitely questions the exact nature of their relationship, and a large part of that is because the only basis of comparison she has for relationships between Witches and Familiars are Wadanohara's and Tatsumiya's with Meikei. Often Lobco wishes that they had a relationship more like theirs, but then she can also be a stickler for being 'professional'.

Kcalb Friend Backwardsblack |

Tatsumiya Inspiration eitherorfish |
When Lobco was young she barely ever left home and was a cripplingly shy girl. On one occassion, however, she met Tatsumi and was immediately inspired by the strong, wise, and graceful oarfish. It was encouragement from her family, and then inspiration she drew from Tatsumi that finally got her going out more and becoming a more proactive person. Lobco still holds a lot of admiration for her, and even from childhood she has wanted to become a Familiar so that she could be more like Tatsumi. But shhh. That's a secret.

Princess Tosatsu Acquaintance killabun |
The Princess of Tosatsu Kingdom. Lobco is wary of her and finds her to have a rather hasty personality, needless to say. At the same time she also carries some guilt when around the Princess for the casualties she caused to her army. Lobco realizes the invasion is not something that Tosatsu should be blamed for but it still makes things rather awkward. Otherwise she hasn't formed any significant opinions on her.

Macarona Friend eymacarona |
Lobco first met Macarona when she had been turned into a wee child when she consumed some candy from the Mogeko Merchant. The angel took care of her and helped her find her father. They met again during the camp out and became near instant friends. The two girls are incredibly similar in disposition and made a deal to help each other out whenever the other needed it.

Idate Acquaintance spyhopping |
The Orca is...strange. Lobco really isn't sure what to make of him. During their first interaction he hit on her, she witnessed him almost get into what could have been a very violent fight if Wadanohara hadn't intervened, and then he protected her when she turned into a kid. So thus far he hasn't really given her a reason to fear him but he is an orca and Lobco is Lobco.

Sameri Acquaintance caeruleam |
Like most people, Lobco was immediately wary of Sameri. She is after all, an alternate of Sal. Fortunately she figured pretty quickly that she was absolutely nothing like him. Since their meeting they have talked a couple times since Lobco frequents the library. Lobco has become fonder of her, and after Etihw cured Sameri she has begun training her in self defense.

Chlomaki Witch pwitch |
Chlomaki is Lobco's Witch. Lobco has dedicated herself to serving and protecting Chlomaki, no matter how dangerous or how ridiculous things become. It's a duty that Lobco takes very seriously. Still, there are times when she definitely questions the exact nature of their relationship, and a large part of that is because the only basis of comparison she has for relationships between Witches and Familiars are Wadanohara's and Tatsumiya's with Meikei. Often Lobco wishes that they had a relationship more like theirs, but then she can also be a stickler for being 'professional'.
